The Bishop State men's basketball team continued its dominant run Thursday night with a 92–61 victory over Calhoun Community College at the Fredericka G. Evans Cultural Centre. The Wildcats jumped out early, taking a 41–24 halftime lead, and never looked back as they controlled the tempo on both ends of the floor. With the win, Bishop State improved to 4–3 in conference play and extended its hot streak to four straight victories, during which the Wildcats are winning by an average margin of 26 points.
Bishop State's offense was powered by a balanced scoring attack led by Tahsheim Gary (23 points), who was efficient from the field and perfect at the free-throw line. Patrick Olajuwon (22 points, 13 rebounds) delivered a dominant double-double, anchoring the paint and cleaning up the glass all night. Vophcy Prophete (17 points) provided a spark with his perimeter shooting, while Tramello Carter (15 points) knocked down timely three-pointers and facilitated the offense as the Wildcats steadily built separation.
Defensively, Bishop State limited Calhoun to just 33.3 percent shooting and forced the visitors into tough possessions throughout the game. The Wildcats also shot an impressive 50 percent from the floor and 47.1 percent from three-point range, showcasing their offensive rhythm during this winning stretch. As conference play heats up, Bishop State's combination of depth, defensive pressure, and efficient scoring continues to fuel its momentum, positioning the Wildcats as a dangerous team heading into the heart of the ACCC schedule.
The Wildcats have a week off as they head into the second half of the conference schedule as they travel to Wallace State in Hanceville, Alabama in an attempt to move ahead another spot in the conference rankings.
